RozDesigns is offering "Taster Days" in the following crafts:

 

Painting a Picture with a Needle and Thread

(Embroidery) 2 day course

(22 March & 26 April (Saturday) OR 3 June & 1 July (Tuesday))

DAY 1 -- Freestyle embroidery basic stitches; embroidery using beads and shishas (mirrors)

 

DAY 2 -- Blackwork embroidery basic stitches, and 3D embroidery (stumpwork)

 

 

Shaping & Decorating Fabric Using Tucks, Pleats, Darts and Texture

(Manipulating Fabric) 2 day course

(25 March & 10 June (Tuesday) OR 29 March & 24 May (Saturday))

DAY 1 -- Making and decorating tucks on a square, rectangular and circular piece of fabric; how to use darts to shape fabric into a desired design, eg shallow square bowl or deep round bowl.

 

DAY 2 -- Making ruched/scrunched fabric to alter the texture; how to pleat fabric ready for smocking embroidery; basic stitches used in smocking; possible applications

 

 

Making a Picture with Fabrics

(Applique) 1 day course

(18 March (Tuesday) OR 5 July (Saturday))

DAY 1 -- Fused and machined applique; reverse applique; broderie perse applique.

 

 

Making Art with Fabrics

(Patchwork) 2 day course

(21 June & 12 July (Saturday) OR 24 June & 5 August (Tuesday))

DAY 1 -- Making patchwork blocks such as Log Cabin, Maple Leaf, Cathedral Window

                and Secret Garden.

 

DAY 2 -- Curved seam blocks and applique in patchwork

 

 

Following the Path, or Meandering Through the Meadow

(Quilting) 2 day course

(17 June & 8 July (Tuesday) OR 28 June & 26 July (Saturday))

DAY 1 -- Sashiko quilting; Wholecloth quilting; Strip quilting

 

DAY 2 -- Hand quilting and machine quilting patchwork blocks; quilting patterns; meandering

                pattern; straight/diagonal lines.
