Learn how to make a Fascinator for yourself, and take it home with you ready to wear. Make it from sinamay canvas, flowers, feathers, ribbon and veiling.

BONED BODICES

Learn how to make the pattern for a boned strapless bodice and then make the foundation with boning, the fashion fabric and lining. You will also learn how to put the 3 layers together and complete the finishing and zip.

 

 

MAKING A SUMMER SKIRT    OR     MAKING A SUMMER DRESS

COST:   £60 per person per day

 

Learn how to make the pattern for your skirt or dress and then make up the garment during the day using the cotton fabric of your choice that you have brought with you.  1.5 metres needed for the skirt, and 2.5 metres needed for the dress

 

 

FREESTYLE HAND EMBROIDERY

Saturdays, 10am -- 5pm

COST:       £70 including all materials

 

Learn the basic stitches used in freestyle hand embroidery by making samples of each stitch and then work a small design using the stitches you have learned.

PATTERN CUTTING

Tuesday evenings, 6.30pm -- 9.30pm

10 January 2012 to 14 February 2012 (inclusive)

OR   17 April 2012 to 22 May 2012 (inclusive)

COST:   £180 for the course of 6 lessons

 

During the 6 lessons you will learn how to produce a straight/pencil skirt pattern and how to alter this pattern to produce 'A' line and panelled skirts along with variations.

 

You will also learn how to make a bodice with different necklines, seams, collars, and sleeves.  You will also learn how to put the skirt and bodice together to make a dress pattern.

 

 

PATCHWORK & QUILTING

Tuesday evenings, 6.30pm -- 9.30pm

28 February 2012 to 3 April, inclusive

COST:   £180 for all 6 lessons

 

During the 6 lessons you will learn a range of approx 8 or 9 different patchwork blocks and make samples of them.  You will also learn how to make a quilt 'sandwich' and how to quilt them.  You will also learn about wholecloth quilting and strip quilting.
